Serious money is made by those who take their network marketing oppurtunity seriously. So, with that being said, before leaping into the very first network marketing opportunity that is put in front of you, ask yourself six very important questions: 1) How Much Money Will I Need? Your network marketing opportunity can cost you anywhere from one dollar to a few thousand dollars. Sometimes I think they should cost more because people would put more value on their network marketing opportunity. The beauty of network marketing though is that it takes very little capital to start which allows anyone to really make it big if they do the work. In relation to a franchise, which my first one cost me $142,000 to open, it is pennies on the dollar to get started. Thank goodness I am out of that now. My current network marketing opportunity cost me $1,500, one-hundredth of the franchise cost. The bottom line is you need some capital to start any business, but the reality is, how can I afford not to invest in my future via a network marketing opportunity. 2) How Am I Going To Get Paid? When sizing up the network marketing opportunity you are interested in, make sure you comprehend the compensation plan. You need to understand when and what you get paid for and then work the plan to optimize your income. Your sponsor should be able to answer the big questions about how your network marketing opportunity pays the distributors. Set goals but remember, it will take time to achieve the big numbers. Everyone always wants to know what their sponsor makes, but don't ask. What they make has no meaning to how much you can make. The only question is, how much could I be making ten years from now? The only way you will not achieve your goals is if you quit your network marketing opportunity. 3) Does The Training Have Substance? I love a group of excited networker marketers, but is the training delivering you content. If there are local meetings, then go. You will learn a lot about building your business from other networkers. Does your network marketing opportunity lay out a easy to follow process that is easy to duplicate? It is all about the training, your personal development, and most of all turning you into a leader so you can lead others and show them the way. 4) Is The Product Something You Would Be Comfortable Promoting? When you are excited about your network marketing opportunity and the products, your passion is contagious. BUT, beyond passion, does the product deliver the results? Are the products results based on scientific evidence, or just a bunch of testimonials? Consider the ways in which you will promote your products and get ides from your sponsor and other networkers. 5) Is This A Startup Company Or One With Many Years Behind Them? This is HUGE! The first network marketing opportunity I was in closed the doors just when I started making great money. It took a long time before a sought another network marketing opportunity because of that one huge mistake. I did not check out the company, I just jumped in! The company I am with now has been in business for over 22 years. You must find a stable company. A stable publicly traded company that must report to shareholders is a great foundation for the hard work you will put into your business. In the same way I interview those I want to sponsor, you should interview your sponsor and the company being represented. You want your network marketing opportunity to be alive and prospering well into the future so you can keep getting your residual paychecks for decades to come. 6) Can You Sponsor Lead And Teach You? Will your sponsor work with you until you have developed into a leader? You want the person that introduced you to your network marketing opportunity to be a person you can look up to and who can lead you to success. Your sponsor is, in essence, your business partner and you two will be spending many hours together as you learn the system. To sum things up, if you treat your network marketing opportunity like it is serious business, choose a great leader to emulate, pick a solid company with a fair and profitable compensation plan, and are willing to put in the time and effort to grow, you will succeed. Do not give up. Those not open to your network marketing opportunity will try to shoot you down and steal your dreams. Treat your network marketing opportunity like the serious business it is, have fun, develop a great positive attitude, and the success will come.
