Nfl †Titans Visit Jaguars On Monday Night Football

Monday’s night game will help to break the tie in AFC South, where the four teams share the same record of 3-2.

If there is a word that can describe the Tennesee Titans’ performance after Week 5, it would definitely have to be inconsistency. The Titan’s campaign in this early season was been characterized by a win followed by loss, and a loss followed by a win. The fans are impatient to see their players chain up two wins in a row, and Monday night it’s a great opportunity to kill two birds with one rock, as a victory would help them to please their fans and abandon the last place of the AFC South.

On Sunday the Titans won their third game of the season against Dallas Cowboys 34-27, thanks to the great performance from running back Chris Johnson, who scored two touchdowns in the last quarter and sealed the victory with 3:28 minutes still to go. The Titans also displayed a great defense, which had six sacks and three interceptions that tarnished Tony Romo’s â€Dallas QB- performance, who threw 31-of-46 for 406 yards and three touchdowns.

Someone that is having a very discrete participation is Vince Young, the 27-year-old QB hasn’t thrown for 200 yards so far in the season. Against Dallas he threw 12-of-25 for 173 yards and two touchdowns, suffering no interceptions: a respectable feat considering that it was his third game in a row with no interceptions.

On the other hand the Jacksonville Jaguars also come from a victory, only that theirs was against the winless Buffalo Bills, a team that is in a crisis, as they are going through their worst start in 25 years. This game not only represented the Jaguars’ second win in a row, but also their first road victory of the season.

The return to triumph from the Jacksonville Jaguars has a lot to do with David Garrard’s recovery after two awful games during Week 2 and 3, which where both lost. The first one was against the San Diego Chargers 13 to 38, where he suffered four interceptions, and had just one TD. His bad strike continued versus the Eagles, where he had no TD, but did have one interception. Luckily for him and his teammates he was able to respond against the Colts with two TD and no interceptions on the 31-28 victory. And the game from this past weekend at Buffalo was a confirmation of his improvement, as he completed 16-of-20 for 178 yards, and even though he had one interception, his three TD where more important than that particular mistake.

Tight end Marcedes Lewis also had an outstanding performance against the Bills with two TD. Although he just caught 4 passes on Sunday for 54 yards, he was able to maximize his chances and converted 2 of those 4 into TD. Curiously in the three games â€two versus Broncos, one against Colts and two more at Buffalo â€in which he had at least one TD the Jaguars have won. Those five TD have also set a single-season franchise record for a TE. He still has more than half season ahead to extend the record, so we’ll just have to wait and see how far he can push it.
