Nfl - Ny Jets After Their Third Road Win

By: Andrew Hill Home | Recreation-and-Sports | Football

Jets visit Vikings on Monday Night Football with a strike of three games of 28-plus points and still undefeated in the AFC East.

Leaders of their division, with a strong defense, and an offense that has scored 28, 31, and 38 points in the last three games respectively, added to what will be the return of Santonio Holmes to activity after his suspension due to NFL’s substance abuse policy violation, are just some of the reasons that give the NY Jets a calm week to prepare their Monday Night Football game against Minnesota Vikings in the Mall of America Field.

On the other side of the road, and back from their bye week, the Minnesota Vikings are looking forward for their second win of the season, to continue their recovery from the two losses â€at Saints 14-9 and against Dolphins 14-10- embedded in the first two games. The match against the NY Jets will be the first in a series of games against strong opponents this month - they have scheduled two difficult visits ahead at Green Bay and New England- and a victory would surely serve as a confidence booster to face the upcoming compromises.

On their Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions, the Vikings won their first game of the season 24-10. RB Adrian Peterson had a great game with 160 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while QB Brett Favre contributed with 201 yards for one touchdown. Although the team struggled too much in the passing -as a fact Favre suffered two interceptions- just like in the two previous games, Peterson stepped up for his teammates and also began to shorten distances with his numbers form last season, where he rushed almost 1,400 yards and 18 touchdown.

While the Vikings where enjoying their bye week, the Jets were taking the winless Buffalo Bills, and they took advantage of their rival’s precarious situation, not only defeating them, but also setting the highest margin ever -38-7- of their rivalry in the third quarter. And although the Bills where able to add seven more points to their loss, it still wasn’t enough to prevent New York from equalizing the 34-10 margin established in 1983.

Jets’ QB Mark Sanchez had a good participation against Detroit throwing 14 for 24 for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns, managing to keep his non-despicable record of 0 interceptions this season. And LaDainiam Tomilnson’s performance wasn’t so far behind from Sanchez’, with 19 carries for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns, for his first hundred yard game with New York.

The Jets were not only forceful on their offense, but their defense also closed an incredible match, keeping Buffalo 0/10 on 3rd down conversion. The Jets march strong on their conference product of their three wins strike â€against Patriots 28-14, at Dolphins 31-23, 38-14 at Bills-, and will arrive to Minnesota as the clear favorite.

With his 4 week suspension for marihuana possession served, WR Santonio Holmes will be ready to see action on Week 5, and will help to boost the offense even more.
