Nikon D90 Digital SLR Camera is a prosumer camera that was meant to replace the Nikon D80 digital SLR camera. A cross between entry-level and professional-level camera, this digital single lens reflex camera was designed with a few enhancements. Some of these enhancements are a larger imaging sensor, Live View mode and HD Movie mode. Nikon D90 Digital SLR Camera is 12.3-megapixel camera with DX format CMOS imaging sensor. It features Nikons exclusive EXPEED Image Processing Technology that enables you to have world class images at blazing speed. Sporting EN-EL3e lithium-ion battery, it has the capability to shoot up to 850 shots per charge. It uses Nikkor AF-S DX 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens and can be used with other Nikkor lenses. It has Live View shooting mode that is activated with a dedicated button, which activates access to 3 contrast detection focus modes including Face Priority AF. Face priority Autofocus is the Face Detection feature in live view mode. This feature functions to determine the features of a human face in a digital image while ignoring anything else in the background. It is the very first digital SLR camera with video recording capability. Nikon D90 can record high definition 1280 x 720-pixel videos of up to 5 minutes at 24 frames per second. But if you use smaller resolution, you can have a 20-miniute video. Nikon D90 records videos in mono sound at 22 kHz. This camera has a CMOS sensor that captures video frames in rolling shutter method, which is the same method used in the old mechanical video cameras. This method captures images sequentially in thin rows from top to bottom, one after the other, over the course of a single frame. Most CMOS cameras use this type of method. It features Active D-Lighting, which is selectable and has Auto mode. Active D-Lighting function has 4 levels that allow you to capture previously lost details in shadows and highlights. For bad images, you can use the new Extra High mode. In addition, it has five advance scene modes as well as Program Auto, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority and Manual. Nikon D90 digital SLR camera has a fast power up of about 0.15 milliseconds with a shooting time lag of just 65 milliseconds. It offers continuous drive up to 4.5 frames per second. It produces different file formats: JPEG, NEF (Nikons RAW, 12-bit compresses), AVI (Motion JPEG). This high precision shutter was tested to over 100,000 cycles. With a shutter this durable, you will be assured of great shutter life and accuracy. For confident image review and movie feedback, it uses 3-inch super-density 920,000-dot color LCD monitor. This LCD monitor features 170-degree ultra-wide viewing angle. It has a built-in image sensor cleaning mechanism that uses 4 frequencies. These frequencies free the sensors optical low pass filter from the degrading dust particles. With its Multi CAM 1000 autofocus sensor module and 11-point AF system, it can deliver razor sharpness in a wide variety of conditions. Aside from its 420-pixel RGB 3D Color Matrix Metering II, it has Scene Recognition System that helps you evaluate images and have unmatched exposure accuracy. You can even reference images to an on-board database which contains over 30,000 photographic scenes. Nikon D90 digital SLR camera features low noise ISO sensitivity from 200 to 3200 as well as high signal-to-noise components. It also features GPS support which provides automatic real-time geo-tagging. You can also use it with the optional ML-L3 wireless remote control, MC-DC2 remote cord and MB-D80 battery pack.
