The nursing field is far and wide and contains many different layers of individual licensing. Registered Nurse
To become a registered nurse a 2-4 year degree is required with extensive education. Registered Nurses extensively studied anatomy, chemistry, psychology, and anatomy. Working Directly under a Registered Nurse, a Licensed Practical Nurse also known as a Vocational Nurse provides basic patient care and assisting the registered nurse. Basic responsibilities include dressing the patient, getting them ready to take medications, etc.

Advanced Practice Nurses
Advance Practice Nurses are basically registered nurses who have gone back to school and received additional job training and now specialize in a specific field. They also hold a Masters Degree.

Nursing Market
The Nursing Job Market has grown and has been growing for years. The projected growth taking into account the upcoming shortage and demand for nurses is exponential. Nursing is one of the largest growing fields in the world, especially here in the United States. Through the year 2016-2017 job growth for the nursing field is estimated at 580,000 new jobs created, which is unheard of in some industries. In addition the job growth expected through the year 2017 is expected to be upwards of 20%. Registered Nurses are ranked as the top 10 fields for immediate job growth, in some surveys it is ranked number 1 for overall job growth in the United States.
There are nearly two million current positions directly or indirectly relating to the nursing field in the United States.
