We all have our favorite modes of entertainment. Some people like to browse the internet, some like to watch TV and some people like to watch movies. There are people who like to watch action and thrillers or comedies and some people like to watch horror movies. Personally my favorites are comedies but some people get a thrill and a rush from watching old horror movies. There are different kinds of horror movies. Some are particularly grotesque, with a lot of blood and gore while there are others with an element of suspense and this is what makes for good entertainment. Even those that are big fans of old horror movies might not prefer to watch the ones with too much blood like the saw series of movies. There must be something about being scared that makes people watch these old horror movies that give them a rush of excitement. I think what happens when you are scared is that the body produces a chemical reaction that gives you the feeling of fight or flight and this gives you an adrenalin rush and this is why people watch these horror movies. Let's face it, it is a much better way of getting an adrenalin rush than going bungee jumping or sky diving. Nowadays it is quite easy to get hold of old horror movies. You can buy or rent them on DVD quite cheaply. There are also many websites dedicated to horror movies where you can pick up all your favorite old horror movies. It is also a good idea to see a preview or read the reviews of the movies that you intend to purchase and watch to make sure that it is what you want. To get the most entertainment from your old horror movies make sure that you set the right atmosphere. Dim or turn off all the lights, make sure that you are alone or with a partner, who also enjoys horror films. There is nothing to disturb you in the middle of an extremely intense scene like unwanted phone calls or visitors. Set the volume to high and just sit back and be prepared to be taken on an intense and exhilarating journey. So all you have to do is to go ahead and make that journey through your favorite old horror movies of all time. But remember to make your way very carefully, this journey is not for the faint hearted. Remember that every little weird sound is enough to give you a mild heart attack, even if that sound is the sound of wind howling outside.
