Mobile phones have become the primary means of communication, providing greater flexibility and convenience to subscribers compared to fixed line phones. This technology has made life a lot easier to help people reach their friends, family and colleagues anywhere at any time.

In India, the mobile phone market is growing by leaps and bounds, paving the way for new and better models with advanced and innovative technology. It is believed that the Indian market is one of the world's fastest growing mobile in the world with around six million new connections every month. In the past five years, the market has shown growth of nearly 8.12% from 2000-2007. In 2008, it is believed that about three hundred million people have mobile phones in India. This number is expected to grow and double in late 2010.

When the first mobile phones were introduced in the Indian market, which were costly and loaded with basic features. Gradually, with the advent of new technologies many features entered the mobile market. The latest innovation is the touch screen navigation system, camera pixels, polyphonic ringtones, MMS facilities and zoom applications. Apart from these there are many others that progress has taken place in the mobile phone market in India.

Today, all major mobile service providers come up with new strategies, offers, variety, along with cheaper rates and services to capture the growing market. This is not only helping the Indian mobile service providers to attract its own people but also helps them to compete with cheap Chinese mobiles that are infiltrating the mobile market in India. As a result, low-income self-employed as rickshaw drivers, maids, taxi drivers, masons, plumbers, carpenters and even food vendors are buying mobile phones and connections. These service users are considered potential customers of major service providers in India.

Mobile phones have now become everywhere in our daily life. Whether any use, either by calling or connecting with people, sends and receive SMS, or use for entertainment. Mobile entertainment includes music player, MP3, video clippings and other innovative means of mobile entertainment. Today, many important services such as ambulance services, police services, astrology hotline, and data devices are also linked to mobile phones. MMS and SMS have come up with slang back along with the new iPhone and most advanced that have recently entered the Indian market for mobile telephony.

The new Apple iPhone comes with a new style statement, adorned with incredible features. Some of the most fascinating features are available in pastel colors, Bluetooth, keyboard service, and other high-end features.

With global trends, the Indian mobile market is still in a stage of constant development and innovation. Network coverage is increasing with greater adaptability and innovation is hitting the market, paving the way for better, better, more advanced and attractive mobile phones in the near future. With so much progress and innovation, the future of the mobile phone market in India is undoubtedly bright future.
