They are also advised to use their hip in a normal way. Knee replacement surgeries are also great options for people looking to get rid of arthritis pain from the knees. Arthritis in knees makes a person almost crippled, not being able to carry out even the simplest of the activities in the house. Deficiency of calcium is one of the reasons that lead to knee pains and arthritis. In knee replacement, the part of the knee that is damaged is replaced. An incision of about 10-12 inches is made on the knee and the damaged part is removed. Then the place is molded in a way that it can hold an artificial joint, which can either be made of some metal or of plastic. The artificial joint is then attached to the various muscles and ligaments. The patient needs to stay in the hospital for about three to five days post knee replacement surgery. After that some physiotherapy exercises in the form of knee replacement rehabilitation is also suggested by doctors.
