Just picture yourself behind the wheel of a new VW †but picture the wind coming right at you, blowing your locks with ferocious speed as you pummel down the highway. We’ve all dreamed of a convertible driving experience, and now it looks like VW is putting it back within our reach with the new model of the Eos. It’s the only convertible offered on the VW platform (if you don’t count the new Beetle convertible), and it really packs quite a punch. Now, the design themes are smoother, reflecting the new aesthetic that is sweeping the VW camp, and we couldn’t think of a better way to make a VW even more appealing. These cars already get great gas mileage, and adding some seriously awesome design to a safe, dependable package is the way to go these days. In fact, it’s always been the way to go, but technology is much more widespread these days. Palm Beach Volkswagen Golf owners are excited to see what the company has in mind for the new Eos. The Eos will come fitted with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder TSI that puts out a solid 207 hp and 206 pound-feet of torque. These include the â€Premium’ multi-function instrument panel with color display, the Light Assist main beam management system and second generation Park Assist. Also new on the Eos is the Keyless Access system, which as a new feature also opens and closes the roof by wireless remote control. The special Light Assist system takes over the function of switching between dipped and main beam, automatically adapting this to the traffic situation. â€Cool leather’, available as an option, gives a pleasant feel to the cars’ seats even in hot weather. It reflects the sun’s rays and thus heats up much less than standard leather.†The Eos definitely has a luxury feel to it that will appeal to Palm Beach Volkswagen Golf drivers, who are very numerous around these parts. The lazy aesthetic of the industry has certainly improved since the recession hit, but it is manufacturers like Volkswagen that are really setting the bar high for automakers across the globe. American drivers are ready to have things shaken up for them, and the Eos seems to do exactly that. What does 2011 have in store for the VW brand?
