When your heart pounds before speaking publicly or a tough exam. We get butterflies in our stomach during a special date. We worry and fret over family problems or feel jittery at the prospect of confronting someone. However, if worries and fears are preventing you from living your life the way you'd like to, you may be suffering from a panic and anxiety disorder. The good news is, there are many panic and anxiety treatments and self-help strategies that can help you reduce your anxiety disorder symptoms and let you take back control of your life.

First let us look at what is an anxiety disorder? What is panic attacks? If you identify with several of the following signs and symptoms you may be suffering from an anxiety disorder.

1. Are you constantly tense, worried, and on edge?
2. Does your anxiety interfere with your work, school, or family responsibilities?
3. Do you experience sudden, unexpected attacks of heart-pounding panic?
4. Are you worried by irrational fears that keep coming back?
5. Do you believe that something bad will happen if certain things aren't done a certain way?
6. Do you avoid everyday situations or activities because they make you anxious?
7. Do you feel like danger and catastrophe are around every corner
8. Do you have uncontrollable and excessive worry about everyday things?
9. Do you experience tension or sweating or trembling or lightheadedness or irritability?
10. Do you suffer from shortness of breath?

For over 10 years I suffered from those terrible symptoms and anxiety. I dreaded the nights and hardly slept. One of the worst times was waking up in the middle of the night feeling overwhelmed and not coping. My mind was racing with crazy mixed up thoughts. I was in bed physically shaking and sweating and continually crying. Some days I just couldn't get out of bed. Like many people I forced my dark feelings and fears to the back of my mind and just pushed on in life even though every day was a superhuman struggle. I was terrified I'd loose all the things I loved about my life. I had lost all hope of happiness, even of just being normal, and I was exhausted from secretly fighting against these attacks. If you suffer from any of the 10 anxiety disorder symptoms or panic attacks noted above, don't worry I found hope. My first steps to wellness came when I finally reached out for help and started my journey to good health. Have the courage to get the right help as things can and will get better. Holding on to hope will somehow get you through. I am sure, because I have achieved it myself but also because I have witnessed the incredible recoveries of other sufferers as well.

I understand where you are at and now I'm well and I wish to share how I made i happen. I have lost my fear.

I now look at life so differently and so positively. My experience has actually helped me to be a better person.

There is hope.
