Path To A Snoring Remedy

By: ricky ponting Home | Health-and-Fitness

If you are having a snoring problem you may also want to look into your lifestyle. Are you having a few drinks before heading off to bed? A second reason may be your weight, if you are overweight this may be a factor in why you are snoring also. One last reason for some individuals having a snoring issue is smoking. Smoking does quite a bit of damage to your entire body so if you quit this could help lessen your snoring.

Ensure your bedroom is cool and not hot, as excess heat can make for a very restless nights sleep. Also ensure that it is as dark as possible as the human body is primed to wake up when a light comes on, as it thinks it is morning again. So if your partner comes to bed after you then try using plug in nightlights in the hallway rather than leaving a bright light on. Physical factors that can affect a good nights sleep most often stem from eating too much or too late at night. Eating spicy food. Consuming caffeine too late at night, or having too much Alcohol to drink late at night. Whilst initially Alcohol can make you fall asleep and even pass out. When the effects of the Alcohol wear off you will often as not wake up and then be unable to get back to sleep.

The chances are that if you are experiencing any of the above, then you are suffering from a lack of sleep and you should immediately contact your doctor. It may help if your Doctor if you note down how often you sleep and anything that is on your mind that maybe causing your insomnia. This will help your Doctor establish the best course of treatment. Throughout history are stories of artists and scientists waking from sleep to their most notable contributions. The Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev discovered the periodic table of elements and the British poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge had his idea for his epic "Kubla Khan" in their sleep. As a result of the dramatic increase in sleeping pill usage, is America losing its creativity and intelligence? Eminem stated that during his years on sleep medications his music was stifled while his brain was shut off.

At this point, I do want to point out that I have personally interviewed several people who suffer from sleep apnea. These interviews were not scientific, and in no way do I claim otherwise. I am not a doctor and I highly recommend that you see a medical doctor if you suspect you may have sleep apnea. That said, one disturbing trend that I found was the lack of emphasis put on losing weight by the doctors that these individuals saw.

If you don't have the correct sound therapy tools, another suggestion is that you never try to fall asleep for more than 30 minutes. If after 30 minutes you are still awake you need to get up and do something else. Just lying there and willing yourself to sleep will not work and the time will pass so slowly it will seem like an eternity.
