Patients And The Public Want To Know What Will Happen In The Hernia Mesh Problems Lawsuit

By: Clint Jhonson Home | Legal

From Nuvaring to many other FDA approved drugs and treatments, complications and problems for patients seem to be increasing in record amounts. Now a recently announced hernia mesh problems lawsuit is putting the spotlight on a severe, possibly life-threatening complication stemming from a relatively standard hernia surgery. With more than 2,000 Bard Composix Kugel mesh lawsuits under way already, the patients and the public are eagerly awaiting the results of yet another medical disaster.

For some patients, hernia surgery is a last resort. Many suffer from ongoing pain for months or years before finally relenting to their doctor’s advice and going through the procedure to correct the problem. After all, if left untreated a hernia can result in its own severe complications, including gangrene. Why do so many patients resist? Most are worried about complications. The same types of complications that are the heart of the Bard Composix Kugel mesh lawsuits.

The hernia mesh problems lawsuit focuses on a device used to simplify hernia surgery known as the Composix Kugel mesh patch and released by Davol Inc. After 2002, the patches seemed to be causing a large number of complications because they were breaking once inserted inside the patient. The components could then move around more freely inside the patient’s body and could cause damage. For example, the synthetic mesh had become wrapped around the small intestine of at least one patient while the coil had been responsible for puncturing and perforating internal organs, the bowels, and the intestines.

As part of the Bard Composix Kugel mesh lawsuits, the injured patients and anyone who has received hernia surgery that included the use of this device is asking for compensation that includes ongoing medical monitoring, medical expenses, punitive damages, legal fees, and judicial findings of causation on the part of Davol for releasing the defective product. Currently, more than 2,000 people are now a party to this hernia mesh problems lawsuit and more are expected to join as news of the problems continues to spread.

Unfortunately, some patients are finding out about the hernia mesh problems lawsuit the hard way: through complications. One man suffered for four years because of these complications and only learned the mesh patch had been recalled after having a third surgery to correct the problem. Anyone who has suffered from these types of hernia surgery complications should learn more about the Bard Composix Kugel mesh lawsuits.
