Piano Lessons For Beginners - Three Tips On Where To Get Started On The Piano

By: john hager Home | Home-and-Family | Crafts-Hobbies

1. First off when you are looking for piano lessons at the beginning stage you want to make sure that you are getting lessons for that stage. If you buy lessons that is more advanced, they will be saying words and showing things that you really wont understand until you get the first principles of piano playing. Like You need to be learning how to form basic chords and not getting lessons on chord voicing's.

This whole thing is like building a house, you cant put the finishing touches on until you have laid the foundation and built the walls and all the other stuff. Well when you hear someone playing very well, it is because the music is build off the fundamentals then polished up. Don't think you can skip learning and fully understanding scales, chords, and chord progressions. After you fully understand these three things you can start adding your own flavor to your music.

2. Second thing to do when you are a beginner at the piano is, look for lessons that you can get online that you can download. When you are at the beginning stage you may not think it now, but the information will be coming into you at a very very fast pace. You can possibly learn a new key principle every day for the first few months. Then you take what you learn to the piano and apply it with practice. There is some great lessons online that you can download to your computer and for months you can just go threw the material and be learning every day. Don't waste your time looking for a new tip or trick everyday when you have all the material you need to build you into a piano player at one cost that you can go threw step by step.

3. Finally the third thing you need to do and most importantly is spend as much time as you can everyday on the piano and practice. If you don't know what to play or practice find a good finger exercise that you can do on the piano. Just get your eyes and your hands used to the keys. At first the piano looks like a complicated thing that you don't understand how anyone understands it. But once you start putting the pieces together it all isn't very complicated at all.
