The user should have knowledge about the chord usage. The piano will thus be played by reading a little note but will be playing more notes. By just playing the written music many people can learn the technique of playing the piano. It is quite easy to play the exact phrase of the music in a piano than the chord symbol that is written over the harmonies. Playing the music with the chord notes will give freedom for creation, invention and even to organize the chords in the like pattern. Thus playing with the chord symbol becomes easy when compared to playing the piano with the written music. Many musicians do not even posses the skill to play piano with the written music. The chord symbols or otherwise called as the chord tabs is a kind of note that is used very often in the jazz and also in the other places of modern music. This chord notation differs from the classical music. The function of this chord is completely different from the notation of the Roman numeral. The chord symbol can be read very easily for the modern music. They are written with the four card parts and it functions as a type of shorthand for changing the heavy music. The four card parts are alterations, extension, root and the quality. The root symbol of the chord informs the musician about the root note of the chord. To quote an example, in E6 chord, E is the root and in C7, C is the root. It is quite easy to understand the concept. The quality of the chord denotes about the type of chord like minor, major, augmented or diminished. For example, Cmaj7 indicates that C chord is the major. The abbreviations used in this chord symbols to denote the above said concepts are min, maj, aug and dim. In the case of Cm, C means the minor chord. On the other hand, Caug means the chord C is augmented Last but not the least chord symbol is alteration. This is not expressed always. The symbol in the notes will give particular instruction for the musician to play and in some cases it will be irregular. The instructions in these notes are parentheses written. For example, there will not any instruction to the musician to play the fifth which is left out. C-9 indicates that the 9th chord to be flat. In the case of plus sign the chord tones to be raised. The musicians can create their own sounds on the piano by reading the chord symbols and the melody notes. With this, they can also definitely improve their music.
