However, if you go online and research what other people are saying about their guitars, you will have a better chance of finding what you want, and what guitar will fit your needs. Buying a guitar can be tricky. Chances are, you cannot afford the most expensive one that are usually used by rock stars. But it is not the best idea to buy the least expensive one, either. Even if you are just starting out, you want to buy an instrument of decent quality so you can get the sound out of it that you need to. Shopping for you guitar online could save you time and money, but going to your local guitar store is a better option. That way you can play the instrument and get a feel for it before being stuck with an item that you do not want. If you seek some guidance from someone at a music store, you will receive a couple of benefits. One, you will get the benefit of talking to someone face to face. Often times, you will be able to be able to tell if someone is lying to you, or trying to manipulate you into paying more for your guitar. Also, you get the benefit of being able to negotiate with someone when you are not operating online. There is a higher chance that you will get your questions answered honestly by another guitarist then by someone who is trying to improve their bottom line. At the end of the day you will have to search, ask, and question everyone that you know in order to get what you want at the price that you want it. Go to a store and try out different guitars. See how certain models fit in your hands, how the size and the weight of the instrument feel, and make a decision. You will have to spend some money; there is no way to avoid plopping down a major chunk of change. Instruments are an investment, so make sure that when you decide that you want a guitar, you have a strong desire to own a guitar and you are not just going through a trend.
