There are lots of picks. There are more picks than shovels. There are more tooth picks than teeth. There are lots of sports picks. There are way more sports picks than good sports pickers. There are way more sports picks than winning sports picks. It is way easier to make a sports pick than a winning sports pick. If you make more winning sports picks than losing sports picks you are doing good at sports picking. You might now be called a sports handicapper. If you pick way more winning sports picks than losing sports picks you might be called a sports picks expert or an expert sports handicapper. Even if you pick way more winning sports picks than losing sports picks, lets say half again as many winners than losers, you are still picking losers 40% of the time. If you are considered a sports picks expert but by luck of the draw one of your followers gets mostly losing sports picks, you will likely be called any number of unflattering things, as well as having your ancestry called into question. Does making 60% of your sports picks winning picks make you a sports picks expert? Probably. If you do it over the course of a full season definitely! If you do it for multiple sports, over multiple seasons, then HELL YES! Can anyone run 62% wins for multiple seasons over multiple sports. Yes, a very few. How about 65%? Are there sports picks experts who consistently run 65% winning picks for multiple sports? Well, there certainly are sports pickers who claim to be sports picks experts who also claim to run 65% winning picks and above. There is some fairly simple ways to evaluate self proclaimed sports picks experts. Most sports picks experts and sports picks expert wannabees will offer free sports picks as a way of allowing you to try their actual picks.Get their free picks and calculate their winning percentage over time. Pick ten or a dozen self proclaimed sports picks experts and keep a log of how they do over half a season. Throw out the bottom five and buy a one weeks package from the other five. Eliminate two from the remaining five. Now buy three more one weeks packages and do another elimination. Since you are now down to the wire, buy a two weeks package from your remaining two sports handicappers. Pick your winner based on the two week results. Unless your winner consistently wins on NFL picks, college football picks, NBA picks and college basketball picks...and each sport you bet in season, at a 60% win rate or higher, don't stop looking. If he wins at a 65% win rate all of the time across all sports, the answer is easy. Don't stop betting!
