Prevent Diseases Simply By Keeping Hands Clean

By: Michael Moak Home | Health-and-Fitness

Everyday new strains of viruses are found and super bugs discovered. Medicine desperately tries to stay one step ahead of these micro-organisms which affect and disrupt our life regularly. Even though medicines are available to tackle these germs, they are best kept far from. Simple hygiene and cleanliness routines incorporated habitually in your daily life are the only solution to keep these dangers at bay. The first and most important step is to ensure that you do not carry and transmit these germs. This can be accomplished by washing hands frequently.

Need to wash hands:

Your hands are exposed to various kinds of bacteria and viruses during day to day work. Your work may put you at hazard if for example you are working in factories or hospitals and such public places. You may even stay at home but may still be exposed to these germs carried into homes by numerous carriers such as vegetables and groceries or other equipment brought to the house. The easiest way for these germs to invade your bodies and infect us is through your hands. Your hands touch food, touch your mouth, eyes and nose. By this method any dangerous micro-organism in your hands gets inducted into the bloodstream and thus becomes the cause of diseases.
Thus, if you manage to keep your hands clean and germ free, you should be able to eliminate most of the risk.

How to keep hands clean:

Keeping hands clean is very simple. You must wash them regularly with hygiene soaps, especially if you have been outside at public places such as travelling in public transport, in market places, used escalators etc. Hands must also be washed if you have handled raw meat, fish etc which are known germ carriers. Hands should be washed before touching food whether it is for cooking or for eating. Hands should also be washed if you have met people whom you touched or shook hands with. Hands should be washed after each and every visit to the washroom. Now, the question that comes to mind is what exactly constitutes washing hands. Is it just enough to wash hands with water or should you use an antiseptic soap. What should be the properties of this hygiene soap?

Benefits of washing hands with hygiene soap:

There are a variety of soaps available in the market, some for the purpose of hand washing and others for generic use. Most of these soaps contain harmful chemical agents. These chemical agents are effective in killing the germs in your hands but also strip the skin of its natural oils thus disturbing the delicate balance of skin. This repeated action causes skin to lose its immunity and makes it vulnerable to attacks from bacteria and viruses. A trouble-free alternative to using these chemical soaps is using hygiene soap.
Hygiene soap contains natural extract which have anti-microbial properties, thus acting as antiseptics and anti-inflammatory agents. The goodness of these extracts like tree tea oil, eucalyptus oil, chamomile etc has been well researched and proven. These extracts while killing germs in our hands also ensure that the skin’s natural defense mechanism is not compromised in any way.

Maintain hygiene by washing hands with hygiene soap:

Maintaining hand hygiene with hygiene soaps is not only safe for your body but also safe for your skin and keeping your hands clean and free from viruses and bacteria is the primary method for prevention of spreading diseases. Hand washing should not only be a part of your daily routine but should become a lifestyle behavioral change. Not only will it keep you safe but also ensure the health of your family if you do not become a germ carrier.
