You will either overcrowd your label design, or simply have small font text that people will not be able to read. b. Reader attention span. Secondly, and more importantly, it is important to write concise content in labels because of reader attention spans. People do not like reading lots of content in a label. They do not actually EXPECT lots of content in most labels and will ignore the rest of its message if it is very long. So try avoid writing long label content. Make sure you write everything concisely. Do not beat around the bush too much. Use only simple easy to read fonts. Effective messages for labels also must have simple and easy to read fonts. Labels are pretty small by comparison to other types of print and it will not do well for your message if it uses an intricate and hard to read font style. While it may be creative to use something that has extra curls and enhancements, your message will not be effectively and quickly given to readers with such font styles. That is why it is better for the most part to only use simple and easy to read fonts for custom labels. Use small icons or images for emphasis. Messages in labels can also be enhanced by small icons and images. Specific universal symbols, arrows and borders can all contribute to emphasize and drive reader’s attention to where it is needed in full color labels. Typically readers will more quickly understand and realize the point of the color labels, helping the message get to people a lot better. So if there is space, you better try adding small icons and images in your custom labels for emphasis. Spend on quality paper. Lastly, you might think it is not an issue but the paper materials can also contribute to the impact and potency of your label messages. People tend to trust labels with high quality glossy paper because it looks more expensive and well made. Compare that to cheap and thin deteriorating labels and you will know why a message will benefit from high quality paper. That is why it is highly recommended that you spend on your label printing materials, especially the paper materials when you can.
