A situation has risen where people looking at each other with doubt and nobody is ready to believe even the known people in some cases. Such a situation is demanding an identity proof for every one. A number of systems have been developed to meet this necessity and each id system has its own facilities and draw backs. Initially the id system was just issuing a card with name and address of the person and with a photograph. These cards have been issuing manually and always had a lot of mistakes in these cards. More over there were a lot of chances for manipulations too. Authorities were aware of these draw backs and a lot of efforts have put in to find a solution. With introduction of electronic id system these problems have been solved to some extent. This id system consists of ID cards with or without a photograph. This card will have a chip which contains all the details of the person carrying that card. This includes his name and contact details and even other details like blood group etc. When you swipe the card in an authorized card reader, all these information will be exhibited. This id system served the purpose of real identity proof to some extent. Though it reduced the chances of manipulations, it was not completely fool proof. Exchange of cards with bad intentions and misuse of other’s cards which might have lost have increased. Id system has undergone significant changes in the recent years. From the swiping cards it has been changed to more sophisticated radio frequency cards which can be read by the readers even from a distance of 4 to 5 inches. Slowly these cards have been changed to multi purpose cards. The researches to make a fool proof identity proof system is still continuing. As a result of these researches id system where a specific pin number has to use along with the card has been introduced. This card with pin number system has solved the menace of misusing the cards to some extent. Even if a card has been stolen or lost, it can not be used without the specific pin number designated to this card. In a way it was safer. But it could not be solve the problem of exchanging the cards intestinally to create troubles. The latest id system is the where biological figures are used to identify a person. It includes readers which will read one’s finger print, face or iris. Presently this is considered as a fool proof system.
