Quality Essential Oils - The Essential Key To Experiencing Aromatherapy's Many Benefits

By: IC Home | Health-and-Fitness

Aromatherapy: It can be employed in myriad ways in daily life.
From a relaxing bath to an invigorating shower;
From an soothing, rejuvenating massage to serious sports injury applications;
From focusing the mind to enhancing sleep;
From disinfecting cuts and scrapes to soothing sunburns;
From general cleaning and boosting your laundry to serious medical applications.

Diffused, applied topically or ingested, essential oils possess many powerful therapeutic properties, offering seemingly unlimited healing actions. And, besides their direct medicinal uses, essential oils are powerful detoxifiers and immune boosters, assisting your body to â€unload†its chemical burden while making you stronger. For many people, the benefits of aromatherapy have been nearly miraculous.

However, to achieve these benefits, you need to start with high quality essential oils. That means: you can’t just buy an oil off the shelf at your local health food store and expect to get the kind of results you would see with a therapeutic-grade essential oil.

The fact is, more than 98% of the essential oils produced in the world today are produced for the cosmetic or food industries â€" not for aromatherapy. And, the difference in quality is substantial. You see: if all you want is to make a perfume or fragrance a cosmetic or bath product, you don’t need a therapeutic-grade oil. If all you want is to flavor some food product, why go through the trouble and expense of producing a therapeutic-grade oil? By cutting a few corners, you can produce an oil with an exquisite fragrance or great taste; but, it will have very little therapeutic value.

Where this becomes a problem is when these essential oils are marketed as aromatherapy products. Worse still is when these cheap oils are:
Cut and extended with synthetic chemicals,
Fragrance-enhanced with synthetic chemicals.
Made entirely with synthetic petrochemicals.

Since all of these synthetic chemicals lack any therapeutic action, and many can actually do you real harm, they should not be used for aromatherapy.

For safe and effective aromatherapy, you need to use only the highest quality oils, produced specifically for their therapeutic properties. These oils will be:
Extracted from carefully selected species of plants,
Grown in the right soil, at the proper elevation and climate, away from sources of pollution, and harvested on exactly the right day and time of day.
Distilled soon after harvest, in small batches, in cookers made of non-reactive metal.
Distilled with water that is free of chemicals, at low temperatures and pressure, and for the optimal length of time to extract all of the oil’s chemical constituents.
Tested, batch-by-batch, to guarantee the purity of the oil and to assure that it includes the complete chemical profile needed for use in aromatherapy.

So, do something good for yourself, and discover the many benefits of aromatherapy. But, be sure the oils you obtain of are of the highest quality. For that, I always go with a trusted source: either Young Living Essential Oils or doTerra Earth Essence essential oils.
