Anticipation and speculation have been surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One for long now. The first look of the sci-fi flick has lain to rest all such assumptions as fans can finally have a glimpse of their super hero. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in his maiden performance as a super hero in Ra.One, which portrays the usual story of victory of the good over the evil, but packaged differently. Shah Rukh plays G.One (Jeevan), the blue eyed protagonist in the film in which he is ably supported by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal in a negative role as Ra.One. Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor plays Shah Rukh’s love interest in the film which is slated for an October release. According to Khan, "Ra.One" means "Random Access - Version 1.0" Ra.One is Shah Rukh Khan’s home production and much was being said about its first look being revealed during the ICC World Cup Cricket Championships, which was quite ahead of its release. But according to King Khan, it was important to build the hype around the film and its characters, so that by the time audiences see the film in theatres, they are familiar with the characters. The film was initially to be shot in Miami, in USA. But it did not work out due to financial constraints and was shot in India instead. The film directed by Anubhav Sinha, has been extensively shot in Film City in Mumbai and Goa, while some parts of it were shot in London. The film which was supposed to be released in June will now be in theaters only in October due to six months of post production work. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor, the star cast boasts of Shahana Goswami, Dalip Tahil, Satish Shah and international actor, Tom Wu. Tom Wu’s role was initially offered to Jackie Chan, which he declined. Shah Rukh has performed some magnificent stunts for the film, which required the actor to stay fit and in shape. The special effects for the film have been taken care of by a team from Hollywood. American singing sensation, Akon was also hired to belt out a couple of tracks for the film which have music by Vishal-Shekhar, while the background score has been composed by Hans Zimmer.
