If you are going to become a radiology technician you will need to get an education, which there are various options for. The certificate will take about a year; the associate’s degree will take around two years, and bachelor’s degrees are typically completed in four years. Associate’s degree programs are probably the most popular for those entering the field with no prior medical experience, whereas those with experience in the field may opt for a certificate program to get them up to the next level and improve their skills in this specialized area. If you want to become a teacher later on or work more in the administrative and/or managerial side of things, you will probably want to opt for a bachelor’s degree.

This will prepare you for the basic procedure of taking a CT, MRI or X-ray, and so much more. You will get hands-on training to be able to work well with patients, properly use the equipment, ensure safety on the job at all times, conduct the most accurate scans and tests and interpret the results. With experience and proper education you can also go on to work as an administrator or teacher.
