By: Top Article3 Home | Health-and-Fitness

Around 75% of people suffer from varying degrees of anxiety. Out of them only just 20% visit the dentist in case of severe pain or emergencies. However, we definitely feel little bit anxious before a dentist appointment.

Let us discuss about the causes of dental anxiety.
Embarrassment: Many people feel embarrassment in advance before visiting the dentist thinking that how the dentist will react after seeing their teeth. They think that they have the worst kind of dental care. So be assured that dentists are there to face these situations on regular basis and it is their duty to provide you utmost dental care.

Past Experience: This is the main reason behind fearing a dentist. A person with a bad past experience will always try to stay away from visiting a dentists for his regular dental care. Although bad experience keep you away from the check up but it is important to know why your check up had a bad experience. Be sure that if your visit was a long ago then now no need to worry because dentistry is a constantly developing field where old methods are being replaced by painless advanced methods for effective dental care.

Immediate atmosphere: It will directly affect your children when you fear the dentist and similarly they will also stay away from proper dental care. This is because children follow what they watch. If they see you don’t keep too much attention towards your teeth then obviously they won’t. Children can also know about this fear from their closer friends or relatives.

Others experience: 'We often experience from others emotions. If your any close related had a terrible feeling with a particular dentist and told about the same then you must be affected from this situation. Or simply anybody from your circle describes about the painful session of RCT and you are the next person to face in the next appointment then it is sure that you must go away.

Dentist’s problem: Some dentists don’t feel the patients’ pain and remain insensitive it affects them highly especially when it comes to kids dental care. So dentist should be aware about the treatment as well as the comfortableness of their patients. Any insensitive comments to the patient will develop dental anxiety at the time of dental care.
