In today's world, it is very important to secure your computer data as you may never know how you would lose your data. So, there are several utilities that enable us to safeguard our valuable computer data. Two of these utilities are NTBackup from Windows and Backup Exec from Veritas software. These tools create backups in the form of BKF files that can be restored when the need arises. However, even then at times you find yourself in the middle of nowhere when these BKF files get corrupt thereby become unable to restore the data. Such BKF corruption can occur due to various reasons such as virus infections, interruptions while creating backups, CRC errors, etc. In such situations, you should find out the exact reason of corruption because the corruption may not be there. However, if nothing succeeds then you should use a third-party backup repair tool to repair BKF files. Consider a scenario wherein you have backed up some data using Backup Exec 11D. Now, when you want to restore the data, it fails to do so. An error message is displayed as a result, that is: â€e00084b7 - a backup set was created which contains no data.†Cause: There could be the following causes of this error: â€You are trying to restore from an offline media. â€The BKF files are being restored from another location. â€The BKF files have corrupted due to any of the aforementioned reasons. Resolution: To resolve this problem, you should create a new B2D (Backup to Disk) folder if the BKF files have been transferred to another location. Because of creating the B2D folder, the BKF files will again mount the online media again. Now, you can carry out the data restoration task. However, if the BKF file is still not able to restore the backed up data, it means that the BKF file has corrupted. In such situations, you should use a third-party BKF repair software to repair BKF files. Such BKF recovery tools are read-only in nature and possess rich user interface that ensures safe and secure recovery of the valuable data.
