Are you included in the millions of people that suffer from heart disease, or worse? Maybe have already had a heart attack. At present, it is not hard to find someone who has either experienced a heart attack, been told they are at risk of heart disease or already have heart disease. Sadly, it is about as common as meeting someone with brown hair colour. This growing epidemic is unfortunately being tackled by completely misinformed media and even many well-meaning doctors. Heart diesease is the top killer in the United States and many other countries aswell. To reduce the risk of heart disease, combatting the risk factors is the best plan. Here are some tips to help you get started: 1. Stop smoking. That's right, smoking is one of the biggest heart disease risk factors especially in cigarettes where toxic chemicals are added (not that i'm recommending tobacco instead). 2. Get out and walk. If finding the time to maintain a structured exercise program is a challenge at the moment, you can get started by just walking. Just by getting out and walking, there have been many reports of people strengthening their hearts and even reversing serious conditions. Find a scenic route if possible. Being outdoors is very calming. Whistling and singing while you walk is highly recommended. It makes for happy thoughts. 3. Be calm. This just means, try not to stress over the things you don't have to. Stress can kill even for those on a healthy eating plan. 4. Do not swap your current diet for a low-fat one. It's possible for your heart condition to worsen during your attempt. Let go of the bad fats instead like hydrogenated oil and worse such as the oils in french fries and donuts and swap these for fats like coconut oil, walnuts, salmon, whole organic eggs and olive oil. 5. Don't be afraid of saturated fats. Eating saturated fats is not the cause of heart disease. It is sugars, excessive refined carbohydrates and, of course, processed foods that is really making most people so sick. To concentrate on each of these tips, one at a time, will bring you all that much close to a healthy heart and therefore a healthier life.
