Yeast infection signs are a funny thing. Sometimes you will show all the classic signs and it will seem obvious. Other times you may be experiencing a number of seemingly unrelated, minor health issues, and you would never believe for one moment that it could possibly be signs of a yeast infection. The distinguishing feature of a yeast overgrowth is the presence of elevated inflamed areas called satellite pustules which emerge on nearby skin. If you notice these pustules in or on your skin then you can assume that the rash is due to a yeast infection, as a non-infectious rash doesn't have these pustules. Yeast infections can emerge on your thighs, abdominal area, genitals, as well as on the skin folds around the genital area. A yeast infection is caused by the Candida yeast which is present in the body of every human being but at times when our immune system may not be in full functioning order the yeast can overgrow and become a problem. The changes which your body experiences during pregnancy including an excess of sugar in vaginal secretions feed the yeast and allow it to thrive. The symptoms of a yeast infection are easily spotted but it is important to get confirmation from your doctor if this is the first time you have suffered from the condition. Of the usual treatments it is common to see vaginal creme, suppositories, and oral medications being used. To avoid and prevent Yeast Infection is a matter of which advice you trust, but generally it is advisable to avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes, remove damp clothes immediately, and don't bath in soapy baths. Also, you may also consider avoiding bread, and sugar. What most women do not realize is that the over the counter medications that we often use to treat yeast infections can be harmful. These type of medications treat only the symptoms of the infection and not the infection itself. Even doctor prescribed medications can do nothing more than treat the symptoms of an infection. Plain yogurt has also been known as a great cure for a yeast infection. Yogurt is packed with "good bacteria" for your body. Good bacteria will help bring your body back into balance by getting rid of your infection. In fact for future prevention of yeast infections it would be a good idea to bring yogurt into your daily diet.
