Rent A Car And Explore South Africa's Gems

By: Roberto Bell Home | Recreation-and-Sports

Whether you are a tourist visiting South Africa, or a local exploring all the gems across the country- the ONE thing you will need in order to make the most of your trip is a car!

The cities of South Africa are set wide and far apart and the best way to travel is via a car. Car rental in South Africa is affordable, easy and there’s pick-up locations scattered all over.

By making use of a car rental to explore South Africa, you get the opportunity to visit all those little places in-between the major cities.

South Africa’s three major cities are Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Often the more adventurous and â€curious’ people want to â€see’ deeper. They want to not only explore the surrounds of a city like Cape Town, but also see all the little towns that connect Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg, and Johannesburg to Durban. It’s no wonder you will need a reliable car rental- South Africa has just so much to see and do!

The major question when visiting South Africa is to decide which places you want to explore. Being independent with your car rental makes things just that much easier, as you can start anywhere in the country- whether it be Cape Town, Johannesburg or any of the other cities.

Cape Town and its surrounds can keep you busy for days, but if it is the exploration of South Africa by car that you are interested in, then it is best to start at one point and carry on along the coast.

The Winelands are a must-visit. Explore the famous wine routes of Franschoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch. From here you can steer your car rental towards Gordon’s Bay and Betty’s Bay along the â€whale-route’. If you’re in season and lady luck is on your side- you will see these wonderful creatures frolicking in the sea along your chosen self-drive path.

This coastal road will lead you to the start of the Garden Route- a popular self-drive route for many people that want to enjoy a break away from the buzzing cities. Mossel Bay marks the start of the Garden Route. George, Wilderness, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay are the popular stopovers and ideal for in-dept study.

When reaching the Sunshine Coast or rather the Eastern Cape, you would have travelled round-about 600 plus kilometres from Cape Town in your car rental. Understandable why we say you should have a reliable car rental that’s affordable, safe and comfortable to travel in?

When travelling with your car through South Africa it is best to allocate yourself enough time! There’s no point if you don’t have the time to explore all the little towns/villages and experience the true hospitality of the South African people.

While travelling through the Eastern Cape you can decide to either drive back to the Cape, or steer your reliable car rental towards KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Johannesburg.

Mpumalanga is quite a popular destination as it is daubed the centre of game viewing and wildlife safaris. If you’ve always wanted to see the Big 5 up close and personal- this is the place to be!

Travel in South Africa is a must! Be sure to plan your itinerary before hand so you know how much time you can spend in which town. But foremost, organise a reliable car rental and be sure to ask for a spare wheel and your car radio will help long stretches of South Africa road pass by in a breeze.

What are you waiting for? Get ready for your exploration through South Africa!
