Repossessed Car Auctions How To Buy Repossessed Cars From Them

By: Davion W Home | Communications | Broadband-Internet

Repossessed car auctions offer some of the best used car deals you can find in US. There are dozens of reasons why people are getting repossessed autos from these auctions. Just to name a few: buyers could be looking for a cheap deal or hunting for bargain vehicles to buy and resell or vintage car collectors could be scouring for vintage autos on offer. Whatever your reason for checking out the used autos may be, repossessed car auctions can really help you meet your need if you know the in" and out" about buying used autos at repossessed car auctions.

What are repossessed car auctions really?

A short summary here basically repossessed auto or car auctions are auctions that offer cars that are repossessed for sale. Often, the prices are at rock bottom. These vehicles are all seized from either individuals who have broken the law such as flouting criminal laws or even defaulting on payments such as taxes, loans etc. These repossessed car auctions can be conducted by the government, banks or financial institutions.

Such repossessed autos are sold in their as is" conditions at the repossessed car auctions. From the layman perspective, what it means is that you buy it with your eyes open and are fully responsible for your purchase. At the same time, they are not obligated to conduct inspections to validate and verify the condition of the vehicles. However, they do sometimes offer such a thing called the extended warranty which you can use to cover unexpected issues that may arise after the purchase. This is not a sure thing though as some automobiles do not come with this warranty especially for repossessed cars. But if they do provide a warranty, you would be informed before the bidding starts.

Repossessed car auctions occasionally do put some near new cars on sale. Some of them can be only a couple of months old simply because they are towed away from loan defaulters. But whether it is a new or old car you intend to buy, always do your homework first.

Get a list of Blue Book values for different car makes and models before going to such auctions. Also, bring along an experienced car mechanic if you can who can offer some professional assessment on the cars you are interested in. Go early to the repossessed car auctions as you would be able to view them, and physically inspect each car before you bid. My advice for you is to run an Auto Vehicle History Check as well as inspect the VIN numbers to know more about the car history, ie whether it has been involved in major accidents and so on.

Prepare yourself mentally, and if it helps, attend a couple of such auctions first to familiarize yourself with the bidding process. If you are getting all excited and want to drive home a car for as little as $100, check out my car blog now.
