Salt Lake City Toyota Prius Dealer Revved Up About Tundra Engine Boost

By: Richard Leech Home | Automotive | Cars

Power up! That’s what Toyota has done for the 2011 Tundra pickup, and dealers of Salt Lake City new cars are revved up about the change. Most truck drivers like a little swagger in their ride so they should certainly appreciate this upgrade.

Pickups have not been the focus of many automakers since the green race began, but they are still a popular choice for many drivers and Toyota has not forgotten them. In fact, Toyota is trying to entice them with the new, more-powerful Tundra.

The 2011 Tundra got a power boost on the standard 4.0-liter V6 and also is available with two V8 choices. The V6 now has the dual independent variable valve timing with intelligence found in the V8s. Customers of the Salt Lake City Toyota Prius dealer Karl Malone Toyota will be more than pleased.

The Tundra now boasts 270 horsepower, up from 236, and the V6 also has roller rockers and hydraulic lifters that offer enhanced performance. This is all tied to the five-speed automatic transmission which provides smooth driving for Tundra owners.

Buyers can also choose the 4.6-lieter i-Force V8 with 310 horsepower or a 5.70liter i-Force with 381 horsepower. Both come with VVT-I technology and six-speed automatic transmissions. The power is there, but can the Tundra compete with other truck brands when it comes to safety and amenities? Certainly, and with style.

Buyers of Salt Lake City new cars and trucks will appreciate the refinement of this pickup. â€Refined pickup†- not really an oxymoron. Let me explain. The Tundra is available in regular and Limited trims and buyers can opt for the SR5 upgrade package and Work Truck package.

Then there is the CrewMax Limited Platinum Package which pulls out all the stops with vented and heated seats, wood grain style trim and a sunroof. Three cab sizes can be had - regular, double and CrewMax. The Tundra also has three wheelbase and bed lengths. Too many options? Not what it means you can build your dream truck, get style, performance and practicality and still be able to afford it.

Standard features on the Tundra include automatic limited-slip differential and vehicle stability control with traction control. All 4x4 Tundras come with electronic part-time four-wheel drive systems. This should satisfy both work and recreational pursuits.

Whether for work or play, these prices are something everyone can appreciate. The 2011 Toyota Tundra starts at a very affordable $23,935 in the regular cab with a V6. On the high end, the Limited CrewMax with a 5.7-liter V8 and four-wheel drive will cost $42,455. Your Salt Lake City Toyota Prius dealer is ready to get you into this sweet ride.
