Savvy Networking Motivates And Grows Your Business

By: Deanna Maio Home | Business

Online and in-person networking is a amazing way to grow relationships in your field. And as an business owner we hear a lot about networking and wonder what all the buzz is all about. It's a fantastic way to grow your client base, increase your profits, and build awareness. But, you already know that. What you may not know is that networking is also a wonderful way to stay enthusiastic about your business.

You Impress Them

Networking moves you to be at your best. If you're networking, you'll want to differentiate yourself. So when you are out in the world with the public, work to make your first impression authentic, by:

*Being ready, and *Being willing and able to give them an informative and inspirational description about your business

Relationships Count

You never know where you'll meet your next business partner, a superior customer or one of those coveted 'Paul Revere type' of individuals who spreads news about how awesome you are faster than CNN. If you meet a 'Paul Revere' and can get them excited about your business, you've just launched your business into a whole new arena.

Networking Moves You Forward

Because networking is usually a scheduled event, it accomplishes two things. It drives you to prepare before you head to the website or event. And it pushes you too put some serious thought into how you present yourself both online and off.

Networking Forces Thinking

Networking encourages you to ponder your business. You think about what your future plans are, where it's going, and what reputation you want to have in the market place. And perception is everything.

Ignite Ideas

Networking with other successful people ignites a little competitiveness. We hear great ideas, product launches, marketing tactics and business strategies and we think, "How can I do this too? We see other successful people and think, "If they can do that, so can I." Hearing the stories of others is very motivating!

Mindset Shifts Happen

Online and offline networking (though online networking can be done in your 'jammies' with bedhead and un-brushed teeth) makes us feel and act like a professional. The simple act of being with professionals makes us feel more professional. We start to feel less like a person who works at home in their pajamas and more like a visionary, a CEO, and most importantly, a successful entrepreneur.
