Scuba Diving †Get Acquainted With The Underwater World

Today, swimming has not been confined only to the pool. A new wave in swimming is Scuba diving, that is taking the whole world for a ride. Scuba diving is a sport that is essentially done while swimming underwater or taking part in any activity, using a scuba set. The best part of scuba diving is that the swimmer is able to stay underwater longer than with the simple breath-holding techniques used in snorkeling and free-diving, and is not obstructed by air lines to a remote air source.


Came to existence during World War II, scuba diving is still evolving. Scuba diving is basically put in the category of recreational diving, but there are professional divers as well. Before indulging in this sport a rigorous training is required, and there are places where even license is required before indulging in the sport. A lot of nuances are involved in this sport and one needs to abide by smany precautions. Certain important issues of scuba diving, that one should take care of are †Physical issues that includes breathing underwater, open-circuit, rebreather, gas mixtures (gas mixtures other than normal atmospheric air) and injuries due to pressure.

The effect of breathing high pressure gas can lead to decompression sickness (formation of gas bubbles), Nitrogen narcosis (reversible alteration in consciousness producing a state similar to alcohol intoxication in divers), and Oxygen toxicity (when oxygen in the body exceeds a safe "partial pressure").


The main areas in the world where this sport can be enjoyed includes Australia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Seychelles, and India. Speaking in term of Indian, there are some of the world famous sites for scuba diving. Goa is one of the most cherished name, as far as diving and other water sports is concerned. Goa is all about great location, economical, fabulous weather, lots of interesting places to visit and great food Scuba diving can also be enjoyed at the various sites in Lakshadweep Island and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The gorgeous marine life that one enjoys at Maldives can be basked at a very low cost at Lakshadwep Islands. On the Kamat Island in Lakshadweep is known for its remoteness and serenity. Diving in these locations is a pleasure beyond par. There are various sites in Andaman and Nicobar Islands that too have various sites for enjoying this beautiful and enchanting sport, where you get a chance to get one on one with the water world.
