Set Your Brand Apart With Promotional Products For Trade Shows

Want a big audience for your company in a short amount of time? Try attending a trade show. Trade shows give businesses the opportunity to show off their new services or products and are a great place to make the all important first impression to prospective customers. Passing out promotional products that fit your business is a great way to leave an impression with the visitors that pass through your booth so that they remember your name long after the show is over.

Before you attend a trade show it is important to set goals for what you would like to come away with. Why is this show important? Who will be in attendance? What message do you want to convey, and how will you measure success? Finally, ask yourself, what show or shows attract the most decision makers for my industry? That's the show you won't want to miss.

Creativity is a must when deciding how to present your company and the promotional products that you decide to give away at your booth. Your booth will need a display that will involve several things. Consider your signage. Is your signage current? Do you have custom banners? What do these things say about your company? Are you using a custom display rack? Also, set up, display and lighting are areas where promotional product options are endless. It is important to ensure that your company's message is captured without your booth being too overwhelming. Stick with large images, and limit text to only major points to created the best display and draw the crowds to your booth.

Your trade show booth should be staffed with sharp, well prepared staff that represent your business in the most positive light. Carefully select those employees that are people oriented and can have conversations all day with many different people. They should be outgoing, knowledgeable, professional and are the front lines in gaining new business from the trade show experience.

Next, be memorable! You must consider if you will give a promotional gift to every person that comes within arm's length of your booth or if you instead choose to give nicer gifts only to those who invest their time in getting to know your business. Consider the difference in giving 2000 people a one dollar custom pen or giving 200 people who give you contact information and show a real interest, a ten dollar pen. Which of these prospects is more appreciative and will more likely to hold onto the branded pen and remember you in the future?

Determining what to offer beyond the business card is part science and part art. You need to know the numbers, how many attendees, and an estimate of actual booth traffic. How many people will staff the booth and approximately how many people will they speak with. Set goals. Then determine what promotional product will merit the most exposure and leave the best impression.
