The advantage of this position is that you will be able to quickly move your head up to look above the bunker to shoot and then take cover again. Another advantage of sitting is that you can also shoot from the sides of the bunkers. Good reflexes are essential for paintball. It is also a fairly stable position and usually people can maintain it for a fairly long period of time. The gun has to be held at level with the eye. The crouching position is effective when you have to suddenly stop moving and yet remain ready to run at any moment. To lower yourself, you may bend forward but you should always hold the gun against your shoulder. Although this is the best position to start running with, some people tend to stand upright and then run. This is useless simply because it is easier and better to start running without standing. This start will give you extra acceleration. However, you should remember that it is not possible to maintain this position for very long. The standing position is used in cases where the distance between the shooter and the target is high. However, practice is required for such long distance shots.
