Windows 7 †the newest operating system from Microsoft is here. It has been launched with much fanfare. The sales of the operating system have been awesome. The question which you may have in mind is †should you upgrade to Windows 7 right away or wait? There are many factors in this. It depends on your level of work, the time you have, the cost of upgradation, etc. Also consider that Microsoft generally releases a service pack in a few months after a major OS release to cover all the security loopholes. You may wish to wait for that also. If you are using Windows Vista, the last operating system released by Microsoft, you know how bad it is. It's a tedious process to do simple tasks. Copying and pasting a file takes more time on Windows Vista compared to other operating systems. If you use Windows Vista just to browse the Internet, then you don't need to upgrade soon. You can wait for a bit longer. But if you use Vista for other purposes like programming/development, then you may wish to upgrade. Even writing a DVD takes more time on Vista than on XP. You may want to upgrade from Vista to 7 sooner than if you are on XP. If you are using older Windows versions like 2000, 98, ME, NT, etc., its a good time to upgrade. Windows 7 is supposed to be far better and faster than all of these previous Windows versions. Newer programs no longer take these old versions into consideration and MS has also stopped support since a long time. Now, if you are using windows xp, currently the most popular operating system in the world, you can afford to wait before upgrading to 7.
