No matter what type of ink cartridges you use you need to make sure you understand when to change them. Knowing when to change the printer ink will not only prevent frustration when you run out of inks in the midst of printing your important documents but will ensure that you don’t damage your printer. Look out for the following signs: 1. The text is getting lighter. The first signs can be that when printing a long document in black, the first few pages print well but as the print progresses the black ink starts to fade or when printing a picture or photo parts of the image are faded. This is a key sign ink cartridges are running low. At this stage replace the printer ink or get a new one as soon as possible. 2. You see white streaks across the text. In this example the colour looks good but any words are faded and streaked. Again now is the time to replace. Please note that these points are also signs that the printer nozzle needs cleaning so if you are sure the ink cartridges are full check out other possible issues. 3. Your PC sends a message to replace the printer inks. This is again a good guide although they are not always accurate so again if you know the printer inks should still be plenty look for other issues. You must never wait until the ink cartridges are completely run down before you get some new ones. If you try to print using dried out ink cartridges you can eventually damage your printer.
