By: Mr. Miyagi Home | Health-and-Fitness

Did you know that foot pain is a common problem that many people complain about? Statistics prove that about 9 out of 10 people have some sort of foot pain, which means you are not alone if you suffer with any form of foot problems such as swelling, tenderness, aching or burning. Even with this many people suffering from this condition there is no set cure for foot and heel pain. However, you can help to improve or possibly get rid of your symptoms by using some of the following great home remedies designed for foot and heel pain.

Water soaks and massages are very popular home remedies used to relieve foot and heel pain or to help prevent it from occurring. With these you alternate by first soaking your feet in cold water for approximately 5 minutes and then switch to a hot water soak for another 5 minutes. The change in temperature will create a type of massage feeling that will help ease the soreness in your feet. Scented or aromatherapy soaks and massages are also options you can try.

Water soaks and massages are the easiest home remedies that you can use. Start by soaking your feet for five minutes in cold water, then switch to hot water for another five minutes. This change in temperature creates a massage effect that can make your feet feel a lot better. You can use scented or aromatherapy soaks and massages as well. For another great type of massage you can try applying a moisturizing lotion on your feet before you go to bed at night. The lotion makes it easy to massage your feet which will help to make them feel refreshed and invigorated.

Heating your feet by using lotions and creams containing capsaicin (the ingredient found naturally in hot peppers) can help to relieve the sore aching feeling in your feet as well. If you have foot pain because you are diabetic, then you may find this treatment very useful. However, it can be helpful in relieving foot and heel pain caused by other problems as well.

At the end of a long day it even helps to take off your shoes for awhile and allow your feet to rest. It is important to take the best care of your feet as possible as you are on them all day and no one wants to suffer with this condition if it can be prevented. Look for some of the home massagers and other tools available that are designed to relax your feet while treating heel and foot pain.
