We all love a stunning bunch of flowers, and itâ'â"s always sad when they start to wilt. However, there are a number of things you can do to help your bouquet last longer, and here are just a few of them. â' Make sure to feed your flowers plant food. Most bouquets will come with a sachet of plant food, so make sure to follow the instructions and never think itâ'â"s not worth it â'†it can mean the difference between keeping your flowers and throwing them out! â' Always cut the stems with a sharp knife, ideally under water to prevent air getting in. Always make sure to use a very sharp knife and never use scissors as this could damage the structure. Cut them at a 45 angle to encourage the uptake of water. â' Use a glass vase rather than a metal one. Some metal vases can alter the pH of the water, so always make sure to use a clean glass one so your flowers last. â' Use warm water. Contrary to popular belief, you should always fill your vase with warm water as this will encourage water to flow into the stems. â' Donâ'â"t place your flowers in areas that are too cold, nor in direct sunlight or near heat sources. These can all make them dry out faster, and thatâ'â"s exactly what youâ'â"re trying to avoid. â' Make sure to change the water regularly and thoroughly wash the vase before you put them back in again. This will make sure your flowers donâ'â"t sit in stagnant water for too long, and after a few days re-cut the stems to encourage them to keep taking in water. These are just a few simple tips that you might want to try to make your bouquet last longer. Flowers can be hard to keep, but if you follow this advice youâ'â"ll be able to keep your stunning bouquet for longer than you thought possible.
