Sleep Apnea - Information On The Disorder

Do not feel complacent that you know that you are suffering from an ailment but then do nothing to improve the situation. Apnea is a Greek word that means the cessation of breathing. If you suffer from this condition your airways become blocked and you find yourself gasping for breath. This can occur several times throughout the night without you realising it. Whilst someone is trying to sleep it is easy to identify if they have breathing difficulties. This leads to the sufferer going through a cycle of sleeping, waking up and then going back to sleep, often without any knowledge of what has happen.

When you suffer from sleep apnea, the fact that you are not breathing correctly means that you are getting insufficient oxygen whilst you sleep. High blood pressure and other heart related problems can develope from this condition. Unfortunately if you already suffer from heart linked problems, the risks that these problems will in turn become worse are higher.
