London is a city much like no other. With a population of around seven and a half million people, all transported around the city on eleven hectic underground tubes, you cannot help but become entwined by the atmosphere. Throw in hundreds of famous attractions, centuries of history, an abundance of culture and some of the best shopping and dining in the world and you have yourself a perfect holiday destination. London tours are perhaps one of the most stress-free ways to soak up the city and learn a little something on your way. London is one of those cities you can visit time and time again as modernisation continues to change its surroundings. Southbank for example, has seen a massive regeneration over the past few years, leading to a succession of hugely popular new attractions like the Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. If you fancy rubbing shoulders with the British monarchy, you absolutely must visit Buckingham Palace, local residence of the Queen of England. This is a popular stop on most London tours and during the summer, tourists are allowed to visit the Queens Gallery. Alternatively, you can take a short walk round to Westminster Abbey, a must-see living pageant of British history. To indulge in a little culture during your London tour, you are spoilt for choice, from the National History Museum, to the British Museum, The Museum of London, The British Library, the Science Museum, the V& A Museum, the Tate Modern and Somerset House. Somerset House even sets up an ice-skating rink between November and January to get you in the Christmas spirit deemed the most glamorous outdoor venue in London. Shopping addicts will be in their element from local markets at Spitalfields to a little luxury at Harrods and everything in between. Covent Garden is famed for its restaurants, excellent shopping and the world famous street theatre. Finally, if the crowds get a little too much, you can seek solace within the many gardens and parks that dominate the city, including the Royal Botanic Gardens (including Kew Garden) and Hyde Park among the most famous. Booking yourself on one of the many London tours doesn't only allow you to take in all the sights but most tours include your accommodation and some meals also, as well as airport transfers and entrance fees. Each tour varies so you will need to check what yours includes but it's a great way of organising your visit so all you need to worry about when you arrive, is having fun.
