Soothe Your Soul With A Sunroom Enclosure

By: Mr.Andrew Caxton Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Improvement

There are plenty of reasons for adding a sunroom to your home. It adds to the elegance of your home, it adds to the enjoyment of all of the seasons, and it adds to the earning power of your investment should you decide to sell in futrure. The outdoor experience with indoor comfort. That's the joy of the sunroom. The addition of a sunroom to your home allows you to relax in a nice, cosy, air-conditioned room, while just a few feet away are the joys of nature. Your garden, your trees, your backyard and children playing. No need to worry about insects, no need to worry about rain or sharp winds. And at night, depending on whether or not the sunroom roof is made of glass, of course, you'll be able to watch the stars as well.

There are a range of sunroom types and designs to choose from, and since sunrooms are by no means a new invention you've got plenty of manufacturers to choose from who have plenty of experience in designing the most energy efficient and pleasant rooms. And because of the advances in design, it's not possible for you to construct your sunroom all by yourself, should you be so inclined.

Typically, when you think of a sunroom you think of an addition, nothing more than a place to sit and relax. But people these days are so taken with the sunroom that all kinds of rooms are now getting the treatment, from the kitchen to the bed room, and even to the bathroom. This may sound like a good idea...but kitchen units surrounded by vast amounts of glass? The glass in sunrooms are especially designed to keep sunlight and heat out and warmth in. They might not be too efficient if there's an extra amount of heat generated from within. So if you are thinking about having a sunroom kitchen, make sure you talk to as many people as possible who have them, to see what they think. Ask them about the costs of cooling the room, the intricacies of cleaning, and so on.

But a room such as a den or family room will be greatly enhanced if it is a sunroom as well. No more need to worry about rain, snow, or the blazing heat of summer. Sunroom glass will filter out the glare of the sun so you'll be able to see quite easily although you're surrounded by sunlight, and it will also block out dangerous UV rays. Glass of the highest quality would also seem to be "intelligent," reflecting much of the sun's heat so that the interior of the room remains at a nice, even temperature, without you having to pay a fortune for an air-conditioner during summer or a heater during winter.

Sunrooms are extremely easy to build, and usually take no more than a couple of days to put together, depending on the type of sunroom you get, of course. Some have to be put together from scratch, others come in kits with everything made in a modular design to make them easy to put together.

And while a sunroom can be expensive - from $10,000 to $70,000, depending on all the features you have, it can still be less expensive than the cost of building on a tradition "bricks and mortar" addition.
