Stabilizing Your Core

By: Luke Wilson Home | Health-and-Fitness | Exercise

Abdominal exercises are done to strengthen and flatten the stomach in addition to stabilizing the core of your body which helps to ease lower back pain. Of coarse this is not the only way to ease back pain and should never be used as a replacement for a more serious condition.

I guess it's true what they say in a way, the better you look, the better you feel. There are a few simple ways to strengthen your core knee raises for one. Knee raises help to make core stronger and tone the front of the thighs and they help with flexibility.

The basic crunch is another way to help with your core, but you have to be careful not to jerk at your neck on the incline, I find it more useful to workout with a exercise ball. Basically you lean back on the ball and you get a better crunch and you really don't have to worry about hurting your neck, plus it strengthens your core. The workout balls are pretty cheap too, you can find them priced between 10 and 20 dollars.

Here's another good thing about strengthen the core, and toning your stomach , muscles burn. Rather it's a long workout or a short one the workout must be intense, getting the heart rate up helps burn fat so that your new lean muscles can shine through.

It doesn't matter how you slice it up having a strong core is important for good balance and core stability and your core . Here is a basic workout that you can do at home without any equipment.

Depending on your age and your fitness level if you need to check with your doctor before you start a routine you should do that before you begin. When beginning a routine it's best to take it easy and slowly ease into the workout.

You can perform abdominal exercises in the range of 6-15 reps per set every other day which is enough to provide enough resistance to strengthen your core. Just remember what you put into your workout, is what you will get out of it. Good Luck.
