By: John Reiling Home | Self-Improvement

In taking the PMP exam, there are certain steps you need to follow in order to complete the training process on how to pass this definitely difficult exam.

Step #1
First, Get a PMP Handbook to know the Process on how to be a certified PMP. It will give you the details on what you need to do and some basic information about Project Management.

Step #2
There are certain requirements you need to have before getting qualified for the exam. Those requirements depend upon the degree you are holding. Whether you may be a high school diploma, bachelor or master's degree holder, normally, you will need at least 4,500-7,500 hours of PMP experience. And all of them are required to attend at least 35 hours of PMP training.

Step #3
Go to the PMP center and file an application that you will take the Exam. Before signing up, make sure that you are determined to become a PMP. This is not a game or any kind which you can easily go in and out. Remember that by taking this exam, you will be exposed to pressure and stress, so you must be determined and dedicated to it until the end.

Step #4
Take a PMP Course. Find an institution or organization that offers this special training and it would be better if it is located near your home. But you should remember that the said institution should have the approval from the PMI. With that, you can be sure that they will teach you the best quality training.

Step #5
Look for PMP Materials. With the help of the Internet, you could now easily download PMP resources. Above all else, get hold of the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK). This manual is provided by the Project Management Institute (PMI) which contains most of the necessary information or PMP questions that will come out during the exam.

Step #6
To get some discounts and many other benefits, be a PMI member. Find information from their official website or go to your nearest PMI Center. With this membership, you could save a lot of money, receive many PMP materials for free, discounts much cheaper than membership fees, free workshops and seminars and a whole lot more.

Step #7
Try studying with different environments. We know that all of us has a unique way of doing things, so as we study. Some of us want to study alone and some wants to have someone with them or group study. Try doing both of these techniques and see which manners best suits you.

Step #8
Attending PMP workshops helps you internalize the knowledge taught to you. You may also learn more from this experience that will surely help you on the actual examination. Not all the questions is covered up by the PMBOK, so you need other PMP resources that will help you with that.

Step #9
After all those study, it's time for you to test your knowledge and skills through answering PMP Sample Questions. These mock exams helps you give a setting more likely the actual exam but the questions here is not what will come out during the test. With this, try to get at least 80% correct answers. And then, practice your analysis for most questions are situational, means it is full of problems you need to solve. However, you are not limited to answer only 1 mock test. You could try as many as you want until you can feel confident that you can surely pass the test.

Step #10
The day has finally come. You are now going to take the exam. I know you feel nervous and have mixed feelings, but don't worry. All you have to do is follow these guidelines:

- Sleep well, the night before the exam
- Eat nutritious foods and other healthy stuffs
- Have at least a short exercise early in the morning
- Don't forget to pray

Go to the PMP site an hour before the schedule, so that you can fully prepare. The exam contains different kinds of questions and scenarios. It can be hard or easy. You should read the questions and instructions carefully so that you could avoid erasures. Don't set your mind unto negative things, but rather the brighter one. A lot of people had already passed this test, why don't you?
