Events are one of the most important tools to increase business awareness. However there are some basics when it comes to arranging events. Details such as the location and of course the date and time of the event and so on but there is more to an event than just holding it. There needs to be a reason and a goal to why you are planning an event. Here are a number of questions that you need to look at and address when planning an event for your company and when it comes to corporate event planning. You will need to liaise with your clients in order to get answers to the questions that need answering but in the long run this is just as important as throwing the event in the first place. This will let you track the success of the plans for your event and help you learn in future where to improve next time and what is achievable at certain events. The first question is to see what goals the company wants to achieve overall and what objectives they are setting for the event. This need to be trackable and measurable so you can report on it at the end and see directly whether these have been achieved. Is it just to drive more enquiries or is it to add more contacts to your book is it to give out certain promo material or is it just to make people aware of a new service. Whatever it is you need to define it and measure it before and after the event to see the true impact your event has had. You need to consider whether an event is going to be the most appropriate or best way to get to the goals you have set yourself. Could you achieve better or cheaper results with targetted messages and communications or a press release or advertising in the right place. Make sure when planning an event that it is an event that you truly need. You need to ask what your key objectives and goals are and what you want to get out of the event. What have you set as the desired best outcome. You also need to consider and plan for what you want your guests to have taken from this event experience. What themes and primary message are you trying to put across. Will your event have speakers and who are the best guests. How will everything fit in to the theme and will all speakers be on message. How will people find out about the event and how will you market it. Will you only invite clients or will it be on your website. Will you send out a press release informing any other industry people of your event or will it be word of mouth. Factor possible event promotion costs in to your budget. Will the events promotional and take away material also be on topic. What will you include on any fliers and packs that are available at the event and given away to attendies. Finally you need to consider what the best day date and obviously the best location for the event is. Can people reach it easily does it have good facilities and does it match in with what your industry expects from you.
