Strong Immune System Prevents Cancer

By: John Goh Home | Health-and-Fitness

Everyone has cancerous cells in our bodies. We depend on the immune system of our bodies to destroy these renegade cells before they get out of control and spread, leading to the development of cancer.

That is why it is important to keep our immune system strong. A diet high in fruits and vegetables provides a good supply of phytonutrient critical to enhance immunity and also provide many of the important vitamins and minerals to keep our immune systems working properly.

Laughter and feeling good are important to keep the immune system functioning well. Science has now found that every cell in the body has a receptor for the substances produced when we are happy. Every cell is therefore influenced by how we feel. Our first line of defense against any disease is adjusting our lifestyle to include things that make us happy and to lessen stress.

One important measure to take is to avoid consuming heat-damaged vegetable oils. Vegetable oils that are processed with the hydrogenation process, depress the immune system and create free radicals that can cause cancer.

Free radicals are atoms or groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons. Once formed these highly reactive radicals can start a chain reaction, like dominoes. Their chief danger comes from the damage they can do when they react with important cellular components such as DNA, or the cell membrane. Cells may function poorly or become cancerous.

Our white blood cells have to deal with the viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungus that invade the body. When the white blood cells are over-worked fighting too many of these invaders, they may neglect their function of destroying renegade cells. Some renegade cells may get the chance to develop and spread, leading to the formation of cancer.

Coconut oil has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic and anti-fungal properties. Taking coconut oil regularly helps to kill a substantial amount of the viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungus in the body. This allows the white blood cells to search out and destroy renegade cells effectively.

Coconut also acts as an anti-oxidant that prevents free radicals from damaging cells and causing cancer. Coconut oil is very stable chemically as it is saturated and has no double bonds. Thus coconut oil is not oxidized easily. It is so resistant to free radical attack that it acts as an anti-oxidant.
