Bars shouldn’t be the only places that are allowed to have bar stools in them. Bars and restaurants shouldn’t be the ones having all the fun, and with some of these stools added to your home, they won’t be. The first thing you should decide when looking at bar stools is what type of environment will they be going into? For instance, if you live in a modernized loft in NYC, you probably don’t want knobby wooden chairs that would be best suited to a cabin upstate. Before you start, you should figure out if you want bar stools that have arms or not, ones with or without backs or if you want them to be cushioned. Arms could be a good idea, but you also have to know how high you need your chairs to be, as getting them too tall can actually be detrimental to them fitting under the table or counter where you want them to go. The backed or backless will come into play depending on how often you use the chairs. If you are going to put your bar stools into a game room or recreation room, where you will be standing more than sitting, then a better choice may be the backless bar stools. The same criterion goes for deciding whether you want to have chairs that are cushioned or not. If you plan on sitting in your stools for longer periods, then cushions may be warranted.
