Various internal and external conditions can result in a red nose, including allergic reactions, alcohol consumption, skin irritation and prolonged exposure to cold temperatures. Recognizing and treating the causes of a red nose may help it to return to its normal color.

Symptoms of Red Nose

The most common symptoms of Red Nose are follow: There may redness seen on the face. Patient suffering from Red Nose may suffering from nasal congestion. They may be runny nose which is quite uncomfortable. There may be dry nose.

Patient may also feel stuffy nose. There may be nose bleeding. Moreover, the red colouring nose does not look well and hence, the patient fells embarrassing. This condition is commonly seen in both Males and female. It affects the people of any age group. There may be two types of Red Nose:

One is the internal Red nose in which the inner surface of nose is red. While the other is external red nose, that is the outer surface of the nose is red. In case of red nose, the flashes of sudden redness are seen. There are various medical conditions, in general, which leads to the red nose.

Causes of Red Nose

Various causes of nasal redness or internal red nose are as follow:

Runny nose gives the red colour to the nose. Some people do nasal rubbing excessive which may also lead to red colour of the nose. Person suffering from Common cold may also show the red colour appearance of the nose. Red nose is also seen in individuals suffering from upper respiratory infection. :

Persons who are allergic to certain substances may also show red nose. Hay fever is also the common causative agent of nose. If the nose is stuffy, then also colour of the nose may change to red.

The causes of red colour of external nose skin may occur due to following reasons

Especially in case of women, when menopause occurs, then the chances of problem of red nose are too much. Person suffering from hot flashes may also show red nose. Emotional stress may also lead to red nose. When the person is in anger, then his nose goes red. Rosacea sufferers also shows redness in nose. Chronic alcohol drunkers, also shows the colour of their nose red.

During smoking, also nose colour is red. Red nose may also be experienced by patients suffering from thyroid disorders. Even the excessive intake of spicy food or staphylococeal infection may cause reddened nose.

Certain people are very much fond of cosmetics. Hence, they use various facial products on the skin which can lead to reaction: Hence, reaction to the facial products lead to reddening of nose.

Generally, the red nose get treated by itself. It does not require any particular treatment. Just the removal of causative agent is necessary. Sunburn should be avoided in order to prevent the red nose. It can be prevented with the proper use of sunscreen lotions or creams. Antiallergic medications should be taken to prevent the allergic which generally results in reddening of nose.
