Once you begin to take care of the physical needs of your pet, you shall mechanically feel emotionally at-tached and show care for his emotions too. Talk about physical care of dogs and there is a lot that you are required to do such as regular exercising, feeding, healthcare and grooming. Amidst all these necessities for physical care, grooming is of extreme importance.

Grooming your pet dogs basically involves washing and brushing. The frequency of these activities would be usually decided based upon the type of your pet dogs. If you have a dog like Chihuahua with short hair, you wouldn't need to comb it more than twice a week to remove loose hair.

However, dogs with long hairs can get their coats knotted if not groomed on an everyday basis. This kind of dogs need daily brushing. Check the skin of the dog while you are grooming. Their sclaps may show signals of sickness. In case you find some signs, take the pet to a vet at the earliest and ensure the the symptoms are treated correctly.

It is vital to understand how to brush the dog. Always use the brush in the direction in which the coat of the dog is growing. Use grooming combs that matches with the sort of coat your dog has. There are specifically designed brushs. If you find tangles in the hair, work gently from the fringe of the tangle to untie. The skin round the tummy of your dog is a senitive area, so while you groom this part ensure that you do it carefully and fastidiously.

Remember that your pet dogs need a regular bath though the frequency depends on their breed. Always use halfhearted water and a special dog shampoo for this purpose. The shampoo can be purchased from any pet supplies store for reasonable costs. It's vital that you only bathe your dogs after brushing. Dry them after bath and take them for a short walk as well.

Clipping nails of your pet dogs is another important activity in the grooming regime. Long nails have a tendency to cause foot problems in pet dogs. It is critical to start clipping nails early in the lifetime of your pet dogs because some grown up dogs might not take it so well.

If you want to make certain that your dogs have glossy and healthy coats, you would need to do regu-lar and careful grooming. This way your pet dogs will not only remain good looking but also very healthy.
