Teeth Whitening Pens - Non Messy Way Of Whitening

By: JessicaThomson Home | Health-and-Fitness

a href="http://www.drlevizoompens.com.au" Teeth whitening pens /a are the latest in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Whitening teeth has never been so simple. These pens are available in the market in large varieties. These are non-messy, fast and can be easily done. Even people who were too busy or lazy for in-office teeth bleaching and whitening home kits can now do it without wasting much of one’s precious time.
But everything comes with some negativity. These pens offer a simple solution to the problem of teeth discoloration but they may not be effective every time and may also cause some side effects, one of them being discomfort.
Teeth Whitening Pens v/s Professional Whitening
These pens have a lower concentration of bleaching agents because of which they may be less effective. Professional whitening involves higher concentration of these bleaching gels and therefore is more effective. These bleaching agents contain either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. The highly concentrated ones have ten to thirty percent of it while the ones with a lower concentration have less than ten percent.
Using a pen for whitening your teeth involves application of an oxidizing agent on the teeth for seven hours a day for a period ranging from five to fourteen days. The results may vary depending on brand to brand. In some cases, whitening can be achieved in a few days and in others it can take longer. But the bottom-line is that these pens are easy to use and cater to a totally different reason. These are for people who cannot go in for in-office or home kit whitening due to lack of time.
Side Effects
These pens may reduce the enamel of your teeth which thereby lead to increased sensitivity as well as a little bit of irritation in the soft tissue of the mouth, especially gums. But these things happen in any bleaching treatment in the early stages. These conditions stay only for few days after completion of the treatment.
People with sensitive teeth and receding gums must take advice from their dentist before going for such treatment. Even people with difficult restorations must first consult their dentist whether they must go for it or not. Those who have problems with hydrogen peroxide must not try any kind of bleaching product. In this case too they must first consult a dentist. For instance, the home kit consists of fruit acids which may damage tooth enamel on prolonged exposure.
The bottom line is that before going for any treatment that involves chemicals one must do a thorough research and consult the dentist as well for any medical complications.
You can also read the testimonials on these pens written by people who have already used them. They are easily available online.
Use these after doing all the research and whiten your teeth in a non messy way.
