Ten Steps To Prevent Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Naturally

By: Kathryn Merrow Home | Health-and-Fitness

Would you like to avoid Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? Here are ten natural steps that will help you prevent it during your whole life.

1. Get a strong back. When your back is strong you will prevent many of the "trigger points" in your back that can cause hand and wrist pain.

2. Improve your posture. This goes along with getting a strong back. An upright posture will help you feel better all over as well as avoid pain in your arm, wrist and hand. When your body is well balanced muscularly, you be less likely to have aches or pains.

3. Eat more healthful foods. Give your body what it needs by fueling it well. Your car can't run on junk food and neither can your body! Eating real food will give you more nutrients than highly processed foods that come from factories. That leads us to the next step.

4. Supplement. If you can't get all of the nutrients you need from your food (and it is hard to do so) then take a good, potent multi-vitamin and mineral supplement. The vitamin-mineral supplements from health food stores can give you much more health value than from supermarkets or drug stores.

5. Drink enough water. Well-hydrated muscles function better and are able to flush out body wastes from your cells. Eating water-filled foods (fruits and vegetables) can also count toward your water intake.

6. Stretch. The short muscles in the front of your body are usually the ones that need stretching the most. This is true even though the muscles in your back are more likely to be complaining. The muscles in your back are unhappy. They complain because they are already stretched more than they care for. That's why it's a good idea to get a strong back.

7. Do yoga. Yoga is a whole body movement and so it benefits your whole body including your carpal tunnel. Even the National Institutes of Health says so.

8. Use all of your muscles. You used to do this when you were a child. Why did you stop? What can you do to start again?

9. Get massaged. Massage is helpful for aches and pains and helps muscles get back in balance. Massage is truly therapeutic. It is "old medicine." For thousands of years, massage has been used to help people feel better.

10. Take care of any medical issues. If you have diabetes or an immune system disorder, work with your doctor and do as many of steps 1-9 as possible. When you take steps to enhance your health naturally, your body can function better and you have a better chance to get well.

By taking care of your body and giving it what it needs to function and be well, you can prevent Carpal Tunnel Syndrome naturally. You can get rid of and prevent lots of other aches and pains, too.
