Tennis has always inspired us. It has given a lot of delegated pleasure. When open era began, rod laver charmed us with his magic. Then the floodgates opened. Since then, there has been Bjorg, Connors, McEnroe, Lendl, Sampras, Federer and Nadal. Each has been classy with their various shades. Few had great muscle power; others had those subtle from-the-death shots. Still others defined their play with magical backline game, fluid backhand and forehand strokes and a lot more. All of this made tennis the great sport that it is today; liked by many and admired by still many.

This has often kept the instruments of the game at the backdrop. Even they have been very important in letting the game prosper as it has. Imagine what the stars would do without tennis racquets or balls or even tennis bags. You would never imagine if not being told, that a tennis racket holds a world in itself there are so many points to ponder. Professional racquets come with a thin beam width. This offers greater range and flexibility to a player even as it adds to the quality of drop shots. These give greater control over shots. These racquets are also ergonomic in nature.

Speaking of balance, the racquets are either heavier from the head or lighter from the head or evenly balanced out. In terms of length, they are divided over 5 sizes. They can be of 27 inches, 27.25 inches, 27.50 inches, 27.75 inches and 28 inches. Today, tennis is being avidly followed by the youngsters. This means that there is a lot of junior racquets floating in the markets as well. They have feather grips and come in relatively smaller sizes. Used racquets is in itself an industry and is sold at different offline and online stores at reasonable prices.

Racquet strings are made of animal gut. Moreover, it has a wooden laminated frame. Today, professionals play the game hard. It requires amore stiff racquet. Wooden frames wont do. This is why there is titanium, ceramic or a fiberglass frame in operation today. Even gut is a thing of the past. It is being substituted by nylon. Racquet heads are also a little inclined today. This gives greater facility to try low shots and out of court stretch shots.

A tennis ball is another important accessory which is usually 6.7 centimeters in diameter and its color is yellow. Today, the tennis balls used in professional international tennis has many chemicals mixed with rubber to attain the desired consistency. Naturally, Southeast Asia is the top exporter of these balls as rubber plantations are most abundant here. The felt of the ball is its most costly part. The felt is being steamed to provide it greater power to combat wind and also offers it a lot of reduction in bounce.

Tennis bags also come in many sizes. They can be 3 racquet, 6 racquet, 8-12 racquet holders; they can also be duffle gears or wheeled tour accessory bags. Companies like Wilson, Head, Dunlop, Nike and Adidas are producing high quality bags that can hold a lot and yet be a non-bulky friend of tennis players.
